This online event on Thursday, October 6th (14:00-17:00 CEST) will highlight the importance of cutting-edge imaging technologies in support of pandemic preparedness, finding treatments and understanding the underlying biology of infectious agents.
The organizers will showcase the specific expertise available at their Nodes across Europe by presenting case studies presented in tandem with the research community.
This event is especially appropriate for researchers from both academia or industry, Master and PhD students, post-doctoral fellows, anyone involved in infectious diseases research and interested in the potential of biological and biomedical imaging technologies to boost this research.
Keynote speakers from the biological and biomedical imaging communities will speak about imaging in infectious diseases. The second part of the event will be dedicated to cutting-edge research carried out on infectious disease at Euro-BioImaging Nodes.
Keynote speakers:
• Anne-Marie Chacko, Duke-NUS Medical School, “A role for in vivo imaging in infectious disease: driving drug discovery by monitoring treatment response”
• Cristina Risco Ortiz, Cell Structure Laboratory, CNB-CSIC, “Imaging viral infections: Identifying new targets for antiviral treatments”
