Studying iron accumulation using QSM in the SENIOR database

Using QSM to study iron accumulation in aging brains!

We previously reported that EOSC-Life (WP3) had awarded funding to the QSM4SENIOR project to perform ultra-high Field MRI Quantitative Susceptibility Mapping (QSM) reconstruction of a healthy brain-aging cohort (based on the SENIOR study) as part of the Digital Life Sciences Internal Call for Academia-Industry Collaboration.

Partners Ventio and NeuroSpin developed this project with the aim to reveal an innovative early biomarker for the pathological aging brain.

Now, the first project results detailing the accumulation of iron by using QSM in the SENIOR database will be presented as a poster at the upcoming QMR Lucca 2022 Joint Workshop on MR phase, magnetic susceptibility and electrical properties mapping on 16-19 October 2022 in Lucca, Italy.
