Take a survey on academic assessment systems and open science

Help us understand how current academic assessment systems and infrastructures support evaluating open science practices, particularly those related to research data

The EOSC-Life community and any interested parties are invited to take a 15-20 minute survey that is part of a study funded by the European Open Science Cloud Co-Creation program and operated by the Federation of Finnish Learned Societies (TSV) to foster responsible evaluation of research and researchers throughout Europe. The survey will be open until January 17th, 2021.

The purpose of this survey is to understand how current academic assessment systems and infrastructures support evaluating open science practices, particularly those related to research data.

The survey is targeted toward individuals at European institutions acting as (i) technicians and/or (ii) data collectors in academic assessments.

    (i) Technicians are responsible for developing and maintaining the technical systems used in assessments. Examples of these systems include current research information systems (CRIS), researcher profile systems, personnel management systems, etc.

(ii) Data collectors are responsible for creating or collecting data used in assessments. Such individuals may work in libraries, human resource departments or in research support offices, for example.

Your input will help us to better understand current assessment practices and systems. It will also contribute to (i) creating a vision and roadmap for incorporating (FAIR) research data into academic assessments and (ii) the technical infrastructure necessary to do so.

The survey will take approximately 15-20 minutes to complete and can be accessed here: link.

Thank you very much for your participation. Please distribute this message to others in your network who have knowledge of the systems used in academic assessments. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us.
